Two phases, one movement
Tempo XXI offers an immersive and demanding experience in contemporary piano and chamber music repertoire, organised by the Académie in partnership with the École Normale de Musique de Paris and the Saline Royale d’Arc-et-Senans. This programme is aimed at students already well advanced, at third-cycle level or beyond.
The 2026 session is structured in two complementary stages.
At the Saline Royale d’Arc-et-Senans (21-22 March 2026), participants begin the work: discovery of works, focused workshops, initial sonic explorations.
Then, at the École Normale and in Salle Cortot (2-3 May 2026), they deepen their work, refine it, put it in perspective. For this second phase, we will have the honour and joy of welcoming composer Philippe Hersant.
Artistic accompaniment will be provided by two major interpreters of contemporary repertoire:
– Florence Millet, professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln
– Sandra Chamoux, professor at the École Normale de Musique de Paris.
The repertoire offered will be communicated to participants after their registration. They may also suggest works of their choice, provided they fall within the contemporary aesthetics and objectives of the session.
