A laureate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he successively obtained eight First Prizes in various disciplines, he has also won several international piano competitions: Prize of the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Competition in 1981, Grand Prize of the Unisa Competition in Pretoria, Prize of the Viotti Competition in Italy, of the Pozzoli Competition, finalist of the Busoni Competition.

Alain Jacquon has recorded some fifteen CDs, most of them devoted to the little-known repertoire of French music from the beginning of the 20th century.

He was awarded the Grand Prix du disque de l’Académie Charles Cros for his recording of the Jean Cras concerto, as well as two Diapasons d’Or.

Passionate about teaching, he gives master classes in the USA, Asia and Europe. During his career, he has directed several French conservatories, including the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt, the CRR of Montpellier and the CRR of Lyon. He has formed a piano duo with pianist Alexandra Roshchina since 2017, the Duo Hands. His concerts have taken him all over the world, as a pianist or conductor. He is a Member of the “Family of Artists” of the Newport Music Festival (USA).

Alain Jacquon was awarded the Vermeil Medal of the City of Paris in 2001.
