Sandra Calderón began her singing career at the age of twelve, giving Mozart recitals throughout Europe and the United States. Venues include Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Kennedy
Center in Washington D.C and Victoria Hall in Geneva. During this time she recorded various CDs. Amongst them a live recording of her Carnegie Hall debut. Her later career path as an opera singer began with her studies at the University of Music in Vienna. Parallel to her studies she continued her international performances which took her to the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome as “Adele” in “Die Fledermaus”; Torino with conductor Eliahu Inbal conducting “Die Götterdämmerung” (Sandra as “Woglinde”) and her debut at the viennese Musikverein under the baton of Fabio Luisi in Mahler’s 4th Symphony.

In the 90’s, after Albert Hammond composed a song for her, Sandra had a considerable cross-over career and recorded five albums, two of which made it into the German charts. Following the cd-production of the Mono-Opera “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Grigori Frid, the piece was performed on two international tours, one of which toured schools in Germany. In 2008 Sandra moved to New York. Besides studying voice, she collaborated with the film academy Weist-Barron, training young actors for film and commercials. Part of her work was the preparation of foreign languages. During this time she also began a strong collaboration with Anya Fidelia, a New York-based singing teacher and opera singer, whose singers she prepared thoroughly in french italian and german diction for auditions. Sandra also works regularly with Diction Buddy, a professional diction platform for singers, as a German language coach.

Besides numerous performances in the United States, she also made her debut as „Jane Seymour“ in Donizeg’s “Anna Bolena“ in Houston, Texas and performed in the world-premiere Japanese opera. “En Saga” at Merkin Hall. Her concerts include “Das Lied von der Erde” with the New York Chamber Orchestra and the Portuguese song-cycle “Serestas” by Hector Villa-Lobos, which she performed at the Portuguese Embassy in New York.

After moving back to Europe in 2013, she was invited to sing “Maddalena” (“Rigoletto”) in Cesky-Krumlov, followed by her first „Carmen“ in Budweis, Czech Republic.

Sandra continues to perform regularly as a concert artist, but has also followed and nurtured her passion to teach voice and language alongside her own career. Her most influential voice teacher is Olga Chernova, who has also given Sandra the vital tools and in-depth knowledge to teach voice. Presently Sandra Calderón lives in Köln, Germany with her family, working at two major vocal academies: Rockademy in Bonn and Köln, as well as at the Cologne Music academy. Her diction students are all over the globe, including the United States, China and Europe.
